It’s summer which means time for everything to be topped with BBQ sauce. My husband and I recently bought the new Busch Light Peach beer and while I was sampling it, I thought to myself “This would make a good BBQ sauce!” So…I decided to give that a go.
I’m new to this whole writing recipes and I forgot to take some pictures, so bear with me here as we navigate through this together.

Ingredients:
1 medium onion diced
2 teaspoon cooking oil (I used Ghee for this, but use what you have)
1 can of Busch Light Peach
1/4 cup Brown Sugar (start with this amount and while your sauce thickens add more to adjust to your liking)
3/4 cup Organic Ketchup or Tomato Sauce (I use the Primal Kitchen Organic and unsweetened ketchup. I get this off of Thrive Market!)
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
4 tablespoons Honey
1 teaspoon Cumin
2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Black Pepper
Coarse salt to taste to be added at the end
Instructions:
1. Dice up your onion and sauté it in the cooking oil over medium heat. You’ll want to use a medium size sauce pan for this.
2. Once your onions are tender, add a splash of the beer to deglaze your pan. Let the bubbles settle and then pour the rest of the beer into the saucepan. Stir periodically until this has reduced by half.
3. Reduce your heat to medium low or low. Add the brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, cumin, garlic powder, and black pepper to the sauce pan. Be sure to mix this well. Allow to simmer so it can reduce. Stir this occasionally and cook until it’s to your desired thickness. If you like your sauce thicker, keep cooking. This step might take awhile.
4. Remove from heat, sprinkle with desired amount of salt and cool. If you’d like to have a smooth BBQ sauce without visible diced onions, once cooled, pop it into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. I skipped this step because I don’t mind a few small onion chunks in my sauce.
5. ENJOY! Toss it on your favorite pork or chicken recipe! Store in the fridge for two weeks!
Tag me in a picture if you end up making this! I would love to see how it turns out for you!
